Dubai\/Lucerne \u2013 On 20 November 2025, the\u00a0GCC GRC Day 2025 in Dubai\u00a0brought together governance,\u00a0risk\u00a0and compliance (GRC)<\/a> professionals from across the region at Address Sky View Dubai. Organized by Swiss GRC in collaboration with Khaleej Times Events, the one day conference addressed a broad range of topics \u2013 from corporate governance and internal controls (ICS) to cybersecurity, ESG, AI governance, compliance automation and business continuity. <\/strong><\/p>

The annual conference continues to build on its strong foundation as a premier platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange across the GCC. It event convened board members, C-suite executives, compliance officers and regulators to address pressing priorities in the evolving risk landscape.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Keynote speeches\u00a0set the tone for the day. Schneider Electric\u2019s<\/a> Senior VP- Programs & Transformation\u00a0Dallal Slimani<\/strong> opened with a presentation on operational and organizational resilience. Swiss GRC\u2019s MEA\/APAC General Manager Rajeev Dutt<\/strong> followed with insights on \u00abGRC in Transition: Building Resilience in Uncertain Times\u00bb. Google\u2019<\/a>s Akshay Dalal <\/strong>Head of Risk & Compliance, MEA\/TA delivered a keynote on\u00a0<\/span>AI Governance & Ethical Risk Management, underscoring the need to balance innovation with accountability. Other speakers included Adnan Ibrahim\u00a0Alhashmi\u00a0<\/strong>Senior Associate Operations Manager,\u00a0Tawazun\u00a0Council<\/strong> for Defence Enablement\u00a0on enterprise-wide assurance, and Fadi\u00a0Bouz\u00a0<\/strong>Director of Internal Audit & Risk Department,Sunbulah Group on the transformative role of internal audit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Interactive panels and forums were highlights of the agenda. The <\/span>\u00abGuardians of Trust: Security, Regulation & Privacy by Design\u00bb<\/span><\/b>\u00a0panel brought together security and privacy experts \u2013 including Faisal Khan\u00a0<\/strong>Associate Director – Information Security &\u00a0Compliance,Dubai\u00a0World Trade Centre\u00a0and Hessa Al Humaid\u00a0Almatrooshi<\/strong> information Security Leader, Free Zones Authority of Ajman to discuss how organizations can build trust and resilience into their digital systems. Another major session, <\/span>\u00abBridging Academia & Practice: Elevating GRC Dialogue in the GCC\u00bb<\/span><\/b>\u00a0featured Nikolai Tsenov <\/strong>Head Solutions & Innovation, Swiss GRCalongside academic and government figures. They explored how universities and industry can collaborate on GRC education and research, helping to close skills gaps and align curricula with market needs. According to organizers, these panels and others on topics like supply-chain risk and regulatory technology \u2013 emphasized practical frameworks over theory, giving delegates actionable insights for their organizations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

At the GCC GRC Day<\/strong>, experts and participants underscored several key outcomes from the conference. One clear takeaway was the <\/span>rising importance of AI and advanced analytics in GRC. Speakers noted that artificial intelligence is transforming risk management, making its governance more critical than ever. As Swiss GRC CEO Besfort Kuqi<\/strong> observed, the GCC is experiencing \u00aban impressive pace of transformation\u00bb with \u00abAI and automation accelerating rapidly, and regulatory expectations, increasing at a remarkable pace\u00bb. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Another major theme was\u00a0<\/span>strengthening the culture of compliance and risk awareness<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0Panellists\u00a0emphasized that effective GRC must be driven from the top and rooted in organizational culture. Rajeev Dutt\u00a0General Manager MEA & APAC,<\/span>\u00a0Swiss GRC stressed that many GRC initiatives \u00abfail because they\u2019re not driven from the top down,\u00bb making leadership commitment and clear tone-at-the-top critical. This echoed industry research showing the payoff of a trust infused culture: organizations with \u00abtrusted GRC cultures move faster, adapt more easily, and earn the confidence of regulators, partners and customers\u00bb.<\/span> In practice, experts encouraged reframing GRC as a shared language and value system rather than a mere checkbox exercise.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Participants at GCC GRC DAY also highlighted the value of\u00a0<\/span>integrated risk-management tools and automation<\/span><\/b>. Modern GRC platforms that link audit, risk, compliance and IT systems can create a \u00absingle source of truth\u00bb streamlining processes and eliminating duplicate tasks.
