It&#8217;s most commonly used for process optimisation, claims handling, front-office tasks, and risk management. The spectrum ranges from rule-based systems to self-learning models that increasingly influence decisions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1269\">Progress is evident \u2013 but uneven. While technological innovation moves ahead and initial use cases go live, governance often lags behind. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finma.ch\/en\/news\/2025\/04\/20250424-mm-umfrage-ki\/\">FINMA<\/a> is direct in its assessment: Many institutions lack <a href=\"https:\/\/swissgrc.com\/en\/ai-grc\/\">clear internal frameworks<\/a>, responsibilities are undefined, and the implications of AI on risk exposure, accountability, and regulatory compliance are not being addressed in a structured way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1271\" data-end=\"1698\">The result is a structural gap \u2013 between technological potential and institutional control. AI is being deployed, but often without formal integration into organisational oversight. Control mechanisms are fragmented, reactive, or siloed within specific departments, with little alignment to overarching <a href=\"https:\/\/swissgrc.com\/en\/solutions\/\">GRC structures<\/a>. This poses significant operational, reputational, and regulatory risks, particularly for critical use cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-570026f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"570026f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Widespread Adoption, Limited Structure<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f8d0b1e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f8d0b1e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"2198\">Despite the growing use of AI, many institutions still lack a comprehensive management model. According to FINMA, around 50% have embedded AI into an explicit strategy \u2013 yet implementation remains inconsistent. At the same time, the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/swissgrc.com\/en\/the-eus-ai-dilemma-innovation-or-over-regulation\/\">EU AI Act<\/a> is set to introduce a binding regulatory framework \u2013 one that will also affect Swiss companies with cross-border operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3184\" data-end=\"3250\">In this evolving landscape, organisations face critical questions:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3252\" data-end=\"3525\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3252\" data-end=\"3323\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3254\" data-end=\"3323\">How can AI-related risks be identified and managed at an early stage?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3324\" data-end=\"3378\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3326\" data-end=\"3378\">How can AI be embedded into existing GRC structures?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3379\" data-end=\"3454\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3381\" data-end=\"3454\">How can transparency and auditability be ensured for AI-driven decisions?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3455\" data-end=\"3525\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3457\" data-end=\"3525\">How can regulatory requirements be met in a fast-moving environment?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3527\" data-end=\"3670\">These are not just technical questions.
